Phat 2 is more a concept than a demo. I wished to create a big-sized animation player using Z80’s stack. The major problem here was not the code itself but the data content generation. I had to take back my own and deprecated software renderer (able to read LightWave 3D scenes) I wrote in the 2000s and created a special output adapted for the CPC. It was the first demo I created making good usage of interrupts to play music (thanks Overflow !). The demo is using a poor design and its reception was mitiged.

Nice demo. Glad to see new stuff on the good old CPC :)

Piggie.

It’s just some slow animations with 4x4 pixel blocks, but since it’s the 1st time it’s done on CPC (except midline process which had polygon renderer but this one here seems to be delta packed) this way like a trackmo with various anims and dancing girls it’s a thumb up. I’d prefer some effects involved though..

effects look nice but demo is running on a single animation engine. I would like to see a part like this in a demo but not the whole demo…

nice fast 3d objects … i like it a lot ! and for sure nice to see cpc is not dead ! ^^

Nice demo ! Same technics as Midline Process (no polygon rendering in Midline !), but with better compression and without loading… :)

i like this demo very much… Also the girl dancing :) It would be better dancing in front of me, but at least dances “inside” my CPC :)

Good demo.

Don’t like at all Would prefer it as an intro for a demo.

It’s far too be bad, but I don’t like this way of coding (slow, big precomputed animation, lot of disk space).
— Hicks, 2009-06-16
disk space does not matter.. there is no loading time once the demo is launched. the demo fully utilizes the 128kb of the cpc ! slow? how slow is it precisely for such a big animation? :)
— norecess, 2009-06-29
Cool big effects. Just need a little more design :)

Nice. Next time a plus demo :)

Feels like an atari LYNX demo…

Looks like a mix of “Control” and “State of the Art” Amiga demos… Good routines.
